BROWNFIELD OLD HOME DAY IS BACK FOR 2022!
Please click HERE for more information.
Check back often for updates!
We are looking for volunteers to help with planning our 15th annual Old Home Day - we need your help!
Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in the possibility of a Rail Trail going through Brownfield, and to all those who participated in the public hearing on March 31st. Some of you asked where to get more information about the project and where you can post your comments. Here is a link to the the Mountain Division Rail Use Advisory Council website, where all minutes and supporting documents are posted. I think the most informative document is the “Draft Mountain Feasibility Study” (last one on the list).

MOST IMPORTANT: While you are on the website, please take a minute to express your opinion by sending an email using the “Contact Us” option. Make sure you state that you are a Brownfield resident. These responses are being tracked and tabulated and will provide input into the final recommendation to the Maine DOT. If you don’t have time to do anything else, this is the most important thing you can do right now.

Mountain Division Trail Update:
The Mountain Division Rail Use Advisory Council has made their recommendation for the future use of the rail line. The proposal is to convert the rail to a pedestrian/bikeway until any future need for rail is determined. See the following story from News Center Maine regarding this project: www.newscentermaine.com/video/news/maine-group-looking-to-convert-old-railroad-tracks-into-trail/97-c657d868-3ceb-4b6a-b4ec-da385168f8c1
